“Embracing Our Environment” is an exhibition of work by 26 artists including painting,

sculpture, drawing, mixed media, photography, collage, prints and embroidery.

The artists that make up this exhibition are part of an artist collective, Spliced Connector group. In many ways the work of this exhibition calls viewers to go beyond a simple appreciation of our environment. The work asks each of us to deepen our connection with the natural world, and to remember the inter-connectivity woven between our environment and ourselves. The artwork expresses the love of, and concern for our natural surroundings from a variety of viewpoints. In these times of turmoil many of us look to the environment for beauty and relief.

The work in this exhibition embraces the potential of visual language to offer homing, to beckon us in that direction. It is a collection of voices that understand the velvet bridge we all wish to walk on. This work enables homing, supports it, and assists in its manifestation.
