“Embracing Our Environment” is an exhibition of work by 26 artists including painting,

sculpture, drawing, mixed media, photography, collage, prints and embroidery.

The artists that make up this exhibition are part of an artist collective, Spliced Connector group. In many ways the work of this exhibition calls viewers to go beyond a simple appreciation of our environment. The work asks each of us to deepen our connection with the natural world, and to remember the inter-connectivity woven between our environment and ourselves. The artwork expresses the love of, and concern for our natural surroundings from a variety of viewpoints. In these times of turmoil many of us look to the environment for beauty and relief.

Twine is made of two strands, twisted in [...] an extended helix, one turning left and the other right, which are then bound together by being wound together. The word twine itself evokes both twinned and twain: two together, but also two inalterably split.
