Tina Seligman

Tina Seligman is a mixed media artist, composer, video artist, writer, educator and curator based in Queens, New York. Her artwork has been exhibited in Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, and Saratoga Springs, NY. In addition to musings about flora and fauna, she explores patterns in nature such as water, clouds, solar, lunar and tidal cycles as meditations on what we all share as life forms. She often invites others to participate with poems and art making as part of a project. As a video artist, her 2016 Solar-Lunar Suite for Four Seasons with Dan Rubin’s photography was screened at the New York Independent Film Festival. She has been a Teaching Artist-in-Residence at Flushing Town Hall since 2000. In the early 2000s, she contributed articles to Art of the Times magazine and has written essays for art books including Duoling Huang: The Cultural Landscape, conversations with the artist for George Zhaozhi Xiong: Seal and Lotus Pond Paintings and his 2023 book The Structure of a Landscape: Paintings by George Z. Xiong. Tina’s poetry has been published by The Feral Press
and several literary quarterlies. After earning a BA in Visual Art from Queens College, she continued her studies with music and movement including viola, fiddle, classical mandolin and Isadora Duncan dance technique.
