Paint and graphite glide on the surface. Mark making accompanied by internal words flow as intuitively as the paint. Cutting, stapling and sculptural gestures are vigorous creating abstractions as real as the real world – metaphors for loss, love, faith and the shared human experience. Donnelly Marks earned her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and maintains a studio in New York City.
